You need not be surprised if you are facing card debt related problems because debt related problems have become quite commonplace mainly due to the easy availability of credit. The sheer size of the problem is easily evident from statistical data collected in 2002, which suggests that the total credit card debt in the first quarter of 2002 was approximately 60 billion dollars. This translates into a debt burden of approximately $8,562 per US household having at least a single credit card.
